Located in the heart of Melbourne's Fed Square, ACMI celebrates the wonder and power of the world's most democratic artform – fostering the next generation of makers, players and watchers. Venue Address Fed Square, Melbourne Box Office This Box Office is open one (1) hour before the first screening until fifteen (15) minutes after the final screening commences. All MIFF box offices are cashless so only EFTPOS and credit card are accepted. Cash is not accepted. The Box Office is located on Level 1 at the Fed Square entrance, straight ahead after you enter through the glass doors. There is step-free access to the Box Office from the Fed Square entrance to ACMI. Food and Beverage Hero @ ACMI offers a seasonally driven menu developed by acclaimed Melbourne chef, Karen Martini. Grab a coffee and a snack in the morning; book a table for lunch or dinner; or enjoy the selection of cocktails, craft beers and well-priced wine offerings from ACMI’s favourite producers around the globe. There is step-free access from the Fed Square entrance to ACMI. There is also an ACMI Snack Bar on the cinema level selling drinks and small refreshments. Opens 30 mins prior to evening sessions.

 Public Transport - ACMI is located in close vicinity to Flinders Street Train Station and is serviced by both Swanston Street and Flinders Street trams. They are offering all MIFF filmgoers discounted parking at selected car parks. You can access it by continuing down the corridor between Box Office and the entrance to the exhibition. This lift grants you access to levels 1 and 2. o  Level 1 -> Cinemas access -There are two lifts located on Level 1. As you enter from Fed Square, one is around the corner on your right, as you pass the Box Office and approach the stairs. If you make a hard right towards Hero at ACMI and the Level 1 toilets, you will see the lift. This is the best lift option to reach the Cinemas level (Level 2). o  Level 2 -> Level 1 access -The Level 2 Lift services the cinemas. It goes down to Level 1, where you will find the restaurant and bar, Hero at ACMI; and the Labs Level. This lift also provides access to Ground floor. - If you need to borrow a wheelchair for use inside ACMI, present your ID at the Box Office (Level 1) and ACMI can organise one for you free of charge. - The cinema doors have push buttons for assisted opening of cinema doors. - There is carpet in each cinema and the walls are steel with inlaid lights. Cinema Seating - For ACMI 1, you enter at the rear of the cinema. There is one row of seats that has step-free access from the door to the cinema and then there are stairs leading towards the front of the cinema on each side. - For ACMI 2, you enter at the front of the cinema. There is one row of seats that has step-free access - There are accessible seat spaces in both ACMI 1 and ACMI 2 cinemas. ACMI Cinema 1 has 2 wheelchair accessible spaces in the back row, with companion seats reserved next to the spaces. ACMI Cinema 2 has 1 wheelchair accessible space in the front row and 1 in the back row (accessed via an internal lift inside the cinema space). Each space is next to reserved companion seats. Please refer to the How to Book Your Tickets section to book a wheelchair accessible space. Please ask a MIFF FOH staff member for assistance when you arrive at the venue. - Seats in each cinema do not recline. Each seat is a single seat with a cupholder. The texture of the seats is a fabric. Closed Captions - This venue does not have closed caption devices. Open Captions - This venue is able to screen films with Open Captions. Please see the Open Captions section on the miff.com.au/access page for details about which sessions will be screening with Open Captions. Please refer to the How to Book Your Tickets section to book a ticket to an Open Caption session. Please ask a MIFF FOH staff member for assistance when you arrive at the venue. Assistive Listening - Assistive listening devices are available for use in all seats of ACMI cinemas. Upon presentation of identification, the units are available free of charge from the Box Office on Level 1 and either use standard headphones or connect with your personal hearing aid via a neck loop. - 8 devices are available for each cinema. The model is the Listen FM LR-400-150. - While these are free of charge, to borrow an assistive listening device you are required to hand in a form of identification and fill in a registration sheet. Your identification will be stored in the cash room and returned to you upon receipt of the receiver at the end of the session. Each receiver has a number engraved on its side which is recorded on the registration form before it is given to you. When your session has finished and you return to the Box Office with the receiver and neck loop/headphones, your form of identification will be returned. - If you have a hearing aid, there is a neck loop available that acts as a wireless connection to your personal hearing aid equipped with a "T" coil. You plug the loop into your wireless receiver, slip it around your neck, and the "T" coil picks up the sound and amplifies the transmitted sound into the ear. Please note, you will need to turn the volume down on your own hearing aid and, instead, use the volume on the receiver. Otherwise, your hearing aid will emit a high-pitched sound. - Please refer to the How to Book Your Tickets section if you require the use of an assistive listening device.
