The Comedy Theatre is a theatre in Melbourne's East End Theatre District. It was built in 1928, and was designed in the Spanish style, with a Florentine-style exterior and wrought-iron balconies.

Box Office
This Box Office is open one (1) hour before the first screening until fifteen (15) minutes after the final screening commences. All MIFF box offices are cashless so only EFTPOS and credit card are accepted. Cash is not accepted.
The Box Office is located through a single door to the left of the main Comedy Theatre entrance, closer to the corner of Lonsdale St. There are three steps to enter through this door. For step-free access, there is a ramp located on the right-hand side of the main Comedy Theatre doors and the box office is on the left-hand side of the foyer past the bar area.

Food and Beverage
There are two bars available on the ground floor foyer, a larger bar on the left-hand side and a smaller bar on the right-hand side. There is a bar that can be accessed from the Dress Circle area.

- The Comedy Theatre is located in close vicinity to Parliament Train Station and is serviced by La Trobe Street and Spring St trams. Go to ptv.vic.gov.au for public transport information.

Venue Access  
- At the doors facing on to Exhibition Street there is a small step, which as you move away from Lonsdale Street is reduced to a small lip. Doors are usually propped open during performances.
- For step-free access, there is a ramp on the right-hand side of the foyer.
- The entrance opens directly into the foyer, which is small and can become quite congested. The Box Office and bar are located to the left, and another small bar to the right.
- There is step-free access from the foyer through to the Stalls section of the theatre.
- There are two large staircases with handrails on the left- and right-hand sides of the foyer that lead to the Dress Circle. There is no step-free access to the Dress Circle.
- If you require step-free access, please refer to the How to Book Your Tickets section to inform FOH staff that you may require extra assistance.

Cinema Seating
- There is step-free access to the Stalls seating directly from the foyer.
- Seating is mildly raked. Two central aisles and two side aisles provide plenty of aisle seats. Side aisle seating is irregularly numbered. Although the aisles themselves are raked, the back seating rows have a slight step, providing a level footing surface for the audience.
- Dress Circle seating is quite steeply tiered.
- There are wheelchair accessible spaces are available in the front of the Stalls area of the theatre. Please refer to the How to Book Your Tickets section to book a wheelchair accessible space. Please ask a MIFF FOH staff member for assistance when you arrive at the venue.
- All seats are upholstered in imitation leather. The seats are tip down seat bases.

- This venue does not have closed caption devices.

Open Captions
