"The last single screen cinema of its kind in continuous operation in Melbourne, still standing since its grand opening in 1936, and one of only a few single screen movie theatres from the 1930s in the world screening repertory movie programming.

Box Office
This Box Office is open one (1) hour before the first screening until fifteen (15) minutes after the final screening commences. All MIFF box offices are cashless so only EFTPOS and credit card are accepted. Cash is not accepted.
The MIFF Box Office is located in the foyer of the Astor on the right-hand side. The box office is accessible via 4 stairs from the main entrance doors or step-free access is through the door to the left of the main entrance, that leads directly into the bar area. Turn right and use the ramp to access the main foyer and the MIFF Box Office is through the foyer.

Food and Beverage
There is a candy bar for drinks and popcorn in the foyer. There is also a bar through the main foyer on the left-hand side."

Public Transport
- The Astor is located a short 5 minute walk from Windsor train station. The nearest tram stop is located at the corner of Chapel St and Dandenong Rd on route 5 and 64 and the St Michaels Grammar School tram stop on Chapel St on route 78. Go to ptv.vic.gov.au for public transport information.
- Level access tram stops nearby are Stop 32 Chapel Street on route 5 and 64.

Parking
- There is on street parking on either Chapel St or surrounding streets near The Astor theatre.
- There is a car park with 260 spaces off Chapel Street just the other side of the intersection from The Astor. Note that a parking fee is required there day and night.
- There are designated on-street Accessible Parking Bays available at the following locations:
-Chapel St opposite the Astor, St Kilda
-25 – 27 Chapel St, St Kilda
-34 Marlton Crescent, St Kilda

Venue Access
- The Astor Theatre is foyer is accessible from Chapel St by 4 stairs that lead into the main foyer.
-For step-free access, there is a ramp to the left-hand side of the main entrance doors on Chapel St that leads directly into the bar area. Once inside, take the ramp on the right-hand side to lead to the main foyer.
-Please note - the width of the door with ramp access is 91 cm wide. There is a side entrance through the laneway off Chapel St through two large double doors that also allows step-free access directly into the Stalls seating area if a wider entrance is required. Please see a MIFF FOH staff member when you arrive if you need to use this entrance.
-The Astor is split into two levels – the Stalls level and the Dress Circle level.
-There is step-free access from street level to the Stalls area.
-There is a large staircase in the centre of the foyer that leads upstairs to the mezzanine foyer. Head through the mezzanine foyer and turn right and there are two staircases of approximately 10 steps that lead up to the Dress Circle seating. There is no step-free access to the Dress Circle.

Cinema Seating
-There is wheelchair accessible seating at the rear of the cinema in the Stalls area as well as towards the front of the cinema. Please refer to the How to Book Your Tickets section to book a wheelchair accessible space. Please ask a MIFF FOH staff member for assistance when you arrive at the venue.
-There is step-free access to all seats within the Stalls area.
-Seating in the Dress Circle is via two staircases of approximately 10 steps from the upstairs mezzanine foyer. Once inside the Dress Circle, you enter in the middle of the seating area and there are more stairs leading either up towards the back of the Dress Circle or down towards the screen. There is no step-free access to the Dress Circle.
-The seats inside the Astor are older style seats made of vinyl or leather. The seats are 47cm wide with armrests. The seats have no cupholders or side tables.

Open Captions
-This venue is able to screen films with Open Captions. Please see the Open Captions section on the miff.com.au/access page for details about which sessions will be screening with Open Captions. Please refer to the How to Book Your Tickets section to book a ticket to an Open Caption session. Please ask a MIFF FOH staff member for assistance when you arrive at the venue.

Quiet Space
-There is no dedicated quiet space however the foyers can act as a quieter area during the screening as no music is played in the foyers during the film.

Bathrooms
o  The accessible bathroom is off the foyer on Ground Level.    
o  Bathrooms with Stalls Only: These bathrooms are located to the left of the large main staircase and accessible via 3 steps or a ramp. They are the first door on the right. There are also bathrooms with this configuration available upstairs on the mezzanine foyer, heading into the next foyer and in the left hand corner.
o  Bathrooms with Stalls and Urinal: These bathrooms are located along the corridor to the left of the large main staircase down 3 steps or step-free access is via the ramp. They are the second door on the right. There are also bathrooms with this configuration available upstairs on the mezzanine foyer on the right hand as you reach the top of the stairs.
o  Accessible Bathroom: A fully accessible bathroom is located along the corridor to the left of the large main staircase and step-free access is via the ramp. It is the third door on the right. This bathroom is also easily accessible from the front of the cinema through the right-hand side door when facing the screen inside the theatre."
